Is it just me or does blood sometimes turn gelatinous?

I had a severe wound in my abdomen area and when I woke up the next morning there was this pulpy, gelatin-like substance near my belly, where it clotted up with my hair. I freaked out when I saw it cause I thought it was some sort of infestation but when I washed it off, it was nothing. But it was like washing off jello stuck on your belly. WTF?
