My Friend is an Indian Citizen and needs Divorce from Indian Husband residing in USA.?

I have a friend (female) who married an Indian Boy and registered in India. They then went to US, where the boy was working and stayed there for about 3 months, during which the boy always humiliated, mishandled, mistreated and abused her and finally asked her to leave and go back to her home in india. Not having anywhere to go, she came back to india and filed for maintainence. Meanwhile the boy filed for Divorce in India, although he is stil there in US. My friend now wants Divorce from him along with alimony. Please advice.
