Was The Watchmen ending stupid?

Manhattan believed that Silk Spectre's conception between two people who should hate each other was a thermodynamic miracle; specifically the chance of pairing off two individuals and the journey it took to arrive at that situation to create her reignited his interest in humanity, something that he lost over time after his accident. In the graphic novel, Silk Spectre claims he can say that about anyone on the planet, and Manhattan replies that sometimes because the planet is so crowded that we forget the miracles around us.
