What can be used to remove mold and mildew odor from carpet?

The person that posted that it should be hauled away is right in that it could be a health hazard, but if you don't have a whole stash of money laying around, here's what I would do; fill a bucket with very hot water, add a cup or 2 of bleach and wipe down the carpet, don't really saturate it, but kinda get it wet so that the bleach can reach down and kill the mold, with an old towel, towel dry the area. That should solve the mold problem for awhile.
